Great opportunity to work with the leadingg oil & gas sectors.

Our client leader in oil & gas sector is looking to onboard Contract/Confirmation Analyst on contract basis or 12 months working hybrid in Calgary location.

Responsibilites:
  • Drafts, reviews, and dispatches confirmations pertaining to the purchase and/or sale of Gas, Power, Emission, and REC transaction confirmations within contractual deadlines
  • Manages incoming confirmation correspondence, notices (i.e., Force Majeure, etc.), and inquiries within the team's shared inbox daily
  • Verifies that all incoming counterparty and broker confirmations accurately capture agreed-upon contractual terms and conditions, and resolves discrepancies promptly
  • Reconciles validated deals within the Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) system to ensure deal entry accuracy and timely detection of trade discrepancies
  • Tracks and maintains errors or misalignments with transactions on the team's Discrepancy Report and assists with monthly reporting
  • Provides exceptional service when interacting with internal and external stakeholders
  • Adheres to established company and departmental contract processes and procedures
  • Ensures compliance with established Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and record retention policies
  • Supports and responds to internal and external audit requests related to confirmations
  • Assists teammates and is available during core business hours to help with confirmation or contract inquiries and provide desk relief during vacation coverage
  • Participates and contributes in the implementation of process and system improvement(s), from system testing to partaking in updating desk procedures, as necessary
  • Available to attend and respond to desk duties during core business hours
  • Other Ad-Hoc team and individual projects as delegated
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, legal or a related field
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of related energy trading, confirmations and/or contracts experience
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency and intermediate understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Sign
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritize work effectively
  • Ability to work collaboratively and professionally with others in a team environment
  • Communicates effectively (verbal and written) with internal and external stakeholders
  • Exhibits customer service-oriented behavior
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of confirmation processes, energy contracts and knowledge of commodity markets is highly desirable
  • Experience with ETRM systems such as Endur, web-based technology, and document management systems
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies effectively
  • Embrace innovation and change management
