Hays Property and Real Estate are proud to be partnering with a government-based facility management business looking for an experienced Facilities Manager in Toronto.

Your new role

The Manager, Facilities Maintenance, as a senior member of the Operations department management team, supports and collaborates with the Director, to lead and motivate their staff team in the consistent delivery of high-quality day-to-day in-house and contracted maintenance and repair services, including cleaning and inspection of equipment, mechanical systems, plumbing and drain, painting, electrical and lighting, paved and landscaped surfaces and building amenities to maximize the life-cycle of building systems and infrastructure, and contribute to an exceptional customer experience at all facilities.

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you will need to have 5+ years' experience in a facilities management leadership position in a unionized environment. Detail-oriented with the ability to handle competing priorities while remaining flexible and adaptable in a complex and changing work environment. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships, demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member. Able to maintain a calm, professional approach when dealing with difficult situations with an emphasis on employee relations.
