Responsibilities


  • Facilitate the onboarding process for cloud consumers, including environment provisioning and role development, ensuring a seamless transition.
  • Oversee critical cloud accounts, manage cloud request tickets, and serve as the intermediary between application owners and cloud service providers.
  • Support partners in prototyping, demonstrating, and integrating products within customer environments.
  • Provide expert consultation on AWS services, best practices, and cost optimization strategies to promote efficient cloud adoption.
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate cloud operations and enhance system reliability.
  • Monitor cloud environments for performance, security, and cost efficiency, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Participate in engineering escalated on-call rotations to offer 24/7 support for critical cloud platforms.
  • Engage actively in Agile development teams, contributing to daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Deliver regular status updates, identify issues, and propose solutions during team meetings.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud architectures, processes, and procedures.
  • Stay informed about emerging cloud technologies and trends, assessing their potential impact on the company's cloud strategy.

What you'll need to succeed


  • University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in server administration, cloud solution administration, or cloud engineering within an enterprise environment.
  • Proven expertise with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, and VPC.
  • Proficiency in programming and/or scripting languages like Python, Perl, Java, Bash, or Ruby.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and services, including IAM roles, permissions, and security policies.
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, Jenkins, Ansible).
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is advantageous.
  • Understanding of networking concepts (e.g., DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls, load balancers) and security best practices in cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with serverless computing (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions) and event-driven architectures.

Preferred Skills:


  • Cloud certification from a public cloud provider (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build customer confidence and establish trusted partnerships.
  • Ability to create and deliver technical documents, artifacts, and documentation (e.g., architecture diagrams, runbooks, process flows).
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and translate technical challenges into business impacts.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Splunk, Datadog) for performance optimization and incident management.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
