Senior Building Operator opportunity - Commercial & Industrial

Your new role
Reporting to the Senior Property Manager, in this role, you will be responsible for the regular and preventative maintenance of a commercial & industrial portfolio. The ideal candidate is a 4th class Power Engineer with prior building maintenance experience on a commercial or industrial facility and enjoys being tenant-facing. The successful candidate will ensure that this portfolio is maintained safely and in an efficient manner. Other responsibilities will include:
- Perform preventative and unscheduled maintenance on all building systems
- Ensure efficient operation of equipment by reviewing system trend logs
- Manage waste, recycling, and hazardous materials (WHMIS)
- Supervise Computerized Building Automation Systems
- Oversee tenant service request responses and resolution
- Conduct risk management inspections and remedial actions
- Assist Property Manager with annual operations and capital budgeting
- Review invoices and expenditures to ensure alignment with budget
- Troubleshoot operational issues, including automation systems
- Maintain knowledge of equipment overrides and automation interlocks
- Stay updated on industry practices, legislative changes, and new technologies
- Assist with capital projects and tenant improvements
What you'll need to succeed
- 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate
- Valid BC Driver's License
- Openness to being on call
- Prior experience working as a Building Operator / Building Engineer on a commercial or industrial property.
