Estimator - Concrete

The Estimator will prepare bids for various construction projects located across Canada by working closely with the Senior Estimator, Outside and Inside Sales Reps.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Review of drawing sets, floor plans, specifications, floor finish schedules for all scopes of work,
Quickly identify and determine which Project RFQ’s fit company core services and are worth chasing.
Collaborate with other departments to obtain material quotes and delivery schedules,
Accurate Preparation of project budgets, including all labour, materials, equipment, sundries, travel costs, rentals etc.
Preparation of thorough, accurate and timely material takeoffs on drawings / plans (quantity survey),
Keep current all project files / documents / records
Maintain a detailed log of all calls, emails, and contacts with clients in the company's CRM System.
Assist in the preparation of bid documents, including rate and unit cost determination.
Develop clear written proposals and correspondence,
Develop positive working relationships with General Contractor Estimators. Proactively utilizes client contact time for business development and lead generation.
Accumulates, evaluates, and documents historical cost data and construction procedures and methods.
Communicate to operations details of project at time of award.
You may need to attend site visits or turn in bid proposals.
Some travel may be required.
Other duties as assigned

  1. 5+ Years of Estimator experience.
  2. Work experience with major union general contractors.
  3. Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office experience.
  4. Construction background, in a union environment ideally.
  5. Someone willing to work fully in-person. This is not a remote job.
  6. Experience in the concrete industry would be a bonus!
