Hays Specialist Recruitment has partnered with a Government organization in Burnaby, BC. We are seeking an Accounts Payable Technician to join their team immediately. This is a 3-month contract, with the potential to extend. This is full time hours, Monday to Friday, and you can work on a Hybrid basis after 2 months.
Your new role
- Entering invoices into software
- Reviewing regional Accounts Payable batches and complete payment runs
- Follows up on payments in error rejected by the bank to obtain correct bank account information.
- Provides input and recommendations to improve accounts payable processing
- Responds to internal and external accounts payable inquiries and investigates issues
- Coordinates with vendors regarding invoicing and payment inquiries, and discrepancies.
- Supporting the accounting department in the preparation of month-end and year-end activities
What you'll need to succeed
- 2-3 years previous Accounts Payable experience
- Experience processing a high volume of invoices is required
- Great communication skills
- Detail orientated, hard worker and ability to multi task
