Job Opportunity for a Senior Architectural Technologist to join an exciting growing company in Vancouver!

Your new company

Hays has partnered exclusively with a local firm with offices in Calgary and Vancouver. The company is actively looking for a Senior Architectural Technologist to join their growing team. They work with developers and builders of all sizes across Western Canada and specialize in residential, community, and mixed-use projects. With a unique blend of boutique creativity and the robust capabilities of a larger firm, they have seamlessly expanded into new markets. This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative team with a track record of success. (This role is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days in the office.)

Your new role

As a Senior Architectural Technologist, you will oversee the technical drawing stage, provide contract administration, and support production drawings in Revit. You will develop technical alternatives as needed and work closely with architects and engineers to ensure designs meet specifications. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that drawings comply with all applicable codes, standards, and regulations, interpreting building codes and AHJ comments, and developing appropriate responses. You will communicate directly with clients, contractors, product suppliers, and others, and collaborate with team members to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Staying up-to-date with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in the industry will also be part of your role.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience as an architectural technologist, focusing on technical drawing oversight, contract administration, and production drawings in Revit.
  • Prior varied project experience is required, with a preference for multifamily residential (ideally 6-storey wood frame) and commercial projects.
  • Architectural Technology Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with Revit, Adobe, and Sketch-Up.
  • Sound knowledge of local building codes and bylaws.

What you'll get in return

You will have the opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team at the company, where you can leverage your skills and experience to contribute to exciting projects across Western Canada. This role offers a collaborative work environment, the chance to work on diverse projects, and the stability of a hybrid work model with 3 days in the office.
