Hays Specialist Recruitment has partnered with a Global manufacturing company located in Peterborough, ON. We are looking to hire a Finance Director to join their team on a contract basis of 3 months, which has the possibility of extension/ permanent.

Your new role

• Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's goals and objectives.
• Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
• Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and the publicly traded parent company, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company goals.
• Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with Canadian tax laws and manage treasury functions, including cash flow management and investment strategies
• Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian tax regulations, treasury management, and financial reporting for publicly traded companies
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
