You will be joining a well-established commercial real estate developer and property manager with over 80 years of experience in GTA real estate ownership and management. They own and manage a significant portfolio of commercial properties. They are known for their commitment to quality, customer service, and community involvement.

Your new role

You will assist in monitoring and hiring contractors for property maintenance, oversee and inspect their work, and ensure all building systems, including life and safety systems, are maintained. You will schedule regular maintenance and janitorial services, respond to tenant requests promptly, and follow up to ensure their needs are met. Additionally, you will perform grounds work, resolve tenant complaints, provide 24-hour on-call coverage, coordinate emergency protocols, inspect the building for damage, and prepare vacant retail units. Your responsibilities also include performing minor electrical and plumbing repairs, maintaining HVAC systems, installing signs, ensuring a safe environment, monitoring maintenance budgets, arranging improvements, completing payroll timesheets, reporting unusual occurrences, training assistants, evaluating employee performance, and other duties as assigned by the Director.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma, with BES or SMT certification preferred, and at least 1 year of experience in building operations or facilities management. They should possess skills in HVAC, electrical, plumbing basics, BAS proficiency, and power tools, along with certifications in WHMIS, First Aid/CPR, and a Class G driver’s license. Strong communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and organizational skills are essential, and experience with commercial or multi-tenant facilities is preferred.
