Administrator, OAA Technology Program - North York - Hybrid work

Your new company

The Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) is a self-regulating, not-for-profit organization that is governed by the Architects Act, a statute of the Government of Ontario. Its principal object is to regulate the practice of architecture. This position will play a key role in the regulation of the OAA Technology Program.

Your new role

In your new role, you will respond to inquiries regarding the Program and the requirements to become a Licensed Technologist. You will process and approve program applications from Student Technologists and Intern Technologists, and maintain the OAA database related to the Program. Additionally, you will administer the intake of program experience submissions, coordinate with the Office of the Registrar, and handle communications to Program participants regarding the assessment of experience submissions. You will also oversee the Licensed Technologist examinations and coordinate the OAA Admission Course information for Intern Technologists, including coordinating in-person and virtual meetings as required by the Program. Furthermore, you will follow up on outstanding Program payments and coordinate with OAA service areas, support OAA communications related to the Program, and lead the administration of Program committees, task groups, and initiatives. Your role will also involve assisting with annual OAA initiatives and reporting to the Council, liaising with internal staff, provincial colleges, stakeholders, and others as required, and staying up-to-date with changes to legislative requirements to relay important information. Finally, you will handle other administrative duties as needed.

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you will need superior administrative skills, effective interpersonal, presentation, and customer service skills. A good grasp of computer skills with knowledge of MS Office (Word & Excel) and Outlook is essential. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are crucial, along with superior written and verbal communication abilities. While a high school diploma or equivalent is required, post-secondary education is strongly preferred.

Please note: this is an Administrative role, and has no design function, therefore Architectural professionals looking to practice or log your OAA hours should NOT apply.

What you'll get in return

In this role, you will receive an annual salary ranging from $55,000 to $60,000, commensurate with experience. You'll enjoy excellent benefits, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, massage therapy, chiropractic care, and physiotherapy. Additionally, there is an outstanding RRSP matching program to support your retirement goals. The position offers hybrid work options, allowing for a flexible work-life balance. You'll work in a modern, eco-friendly building with free on-site parking. The professional and friendly work culture is complemented by flexible summer hours to make the most of your time.
