Accounts Payable

Your new company

Our client is a well-established organization in the intellectual property industry.

Your new role

As an Accounts Payable Coordinator, you will play an integral role within the Finance Group, reporting to the Financial Controller. You will work collaboratively with the Accounts Team Leader, finance team members, and other group functions to support the firm and business in delivering high-quality internal and external services. Your responsibilities will include the timely and accurate processing, coding, and payment of all supplier invoices, complying with relevant reporting requirements (GST/HST), and processing and payment of all Employee and Partner expenses. You will ensure compliance with firm policies in reviewing expense reports and assist with essential tasks during month-end and year-end preparation for audits. Additionally, you will handle the processing of international payments, supplier statement reconciliations, and resolution of queries. Your duties will also involve bank account postings and reconciliation of remittances, assisting management with ad hoc audit requests, reports, and special projects as assigned, and managing the AP mailbox as the main point of contact. You will maintain an organized electronic filing system for financial documents, including invoices, receipts, and statements, and identify and implement strategies for operational efficiency and process improvement.

What you'll need to succeed

To excel in this role, you will need a diploma or post-secondary education or equivalent experience, along with 3–5 years of full-cycle Accounts Payable experience. You should have experience of processing and paying accounts payable invoices, including international payments, and the ability to reconcile large amounts of data. Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Excel (e.g., Pivot tables, Vlookup, and charts), Word, and other reporting tools, are essential. Proficiency in accounting software, exemplary attention to detail, excellent organizational and administrative skills, and experience working to tight deadlines are also required. You should be able to demonstrate professional integrity, be an effective team member who is productive with minimal supervision, and possess excellent communication skills with a willingness to listen to others and challenge constructively. Knowledge and experience of AP business practices and finance procedures are also necessary.

What you'll get in return

You will receive a market-competitive compensation package of $60,000 - $65,000, 3 weeks’ vacation, Personal Days, RRSP Matching up to 4%, Group Health Benefits, and hybrid work with 1–2 days in the office. There is also the possibility of flexible working hours. Additionally, you will have opportunities for continuous learning and career growth, and a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
