Head of Architectural Design opportunity with a notable Developer - High-Rise Residential Projects

Your new company is an innovative architectural design firm dedicated to reshaping communities through unique residential design. The architectural firm works hand in hand with a notable developer in the Kitchener/Waterloo area. Their approach melds aesthetic excellence with functional design to transform everyday environments. Their expertise spans across feasibility studies, advanced visualization, and comprehensive project management, from schematic design through to construction & closeout.

Your new role

The Head of Architectural Design will oversee the architectural vision, planning, and execution of projects, ensuring innovative, sustainable, and functional designs that meet the needs of our communities. This role will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver world-class developments while maintaining budget, quality, and timeline standards. You will lead a team of up to 10 Designers/Techs.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate will need a Bachelor/Master's in Architecture, with at least 10+ years of local experience with mid/high-rise residential experience. You will also need 3–5 years of proven leadership experience, with both people and projects. Strong knowledge of sustainable design practices, the Ontario Building Code, and zoning requirements is required. Proficiency in architectural software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp) and familiarity with construction methodologies is essential. An OAA License is an asset. T his job requires you to be in office 100% in the Kitchener/Waterloo area.
