A successful Financial Services organization in Edmonton has an immediate need for an Assistant Controller to join their team.

Your new role

• Oversight and review of work performed by the finance team;
• Ensure the timely and accurate production by the finance team of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with IFRS;
• Prepare and coordinate financial reporting required by our headquarters;
• Maintain the integrity of the financial reporting process and financial controls;
• Review of monthly/annual GST/HST filings;
• Preparation and review of internal reports;
• Preparation of quarterly and annual working papers for external auditors;
• Assist in the compilation of Executive and Board presentations under the Vice President, Finance’s direction;
• Assist in the development and selection of entity wide accounting policies and procedures

What you'll need to succeed

A deep understanding of accounting principles and IFRS as well as a strong Excel skillset is required.

Previous management experience is preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree;
• Professional designation (i.e. CPA or equivalent) with a minimum of 3 years post-designation experience;
