This client has customers who engage them to negotiate with their suppliers on their behalf. Upon receiving the list of suppliers, you will prepare for negotiations by conducting online and phone research. As a Procurement Analyst, your role will involve identifying the appropriate contact person at a company responsible for negotiating terms and conditions. You will contact suppliers to identify the key point of contact for negotiations (note: this is not cold calling; you will be calling as a customer seeking information). You will follow up with suppliers persistently via phone and email to ensure you reach the right decision-maker. Additionally, you will schedule the initial phone conversation with the key contact at the supplier, perform basic analysis (using Excel) on our historical spend with the supplier, and conduct online research about the supplier to inform the negotiator’s strategy.

To excel in this role, you need to be experienced in persistently achieving outcomes over the phone. A strong hustle mindset is essential. You will be responsible for daily communication with various warm contacts, so comfort with extensive phone communication is a must. A key aspect of this role involves identifying the primary decision-maker at the supplier. Once you have identified the right contact, you will share this information with the internal negotiation team, who will then handle the negotiation process. You will support the negotiators by conducting analysis, managing spend, and generating reports using tools such as Excel, Power BI, and Tableau.
