Payroll Manager - Construction
Your new company
An exciting opportunity to join an award-winning construction company, based in Surrey, as their new Payroll Manager. You will join a highly collaborative team, supporting 19 operating companies across Western Canada.
Your new role
Reporting to the Controller, the Payroll Manager will be responsible for the payroll function, supporting up to 1100 employees while leading, mentoring and supervising a team of 6.
- Oversee the full cycle payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Manage all aspects of payroll.
- Address payroll inquiries from employees and management.
- Handle audit inquiries from external entities, including unions and government agencies.
- Reconcile all payroll general ledger and CRA accounts.
- Prepare and balance annual T4s.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience in full cycle payroll processing with 5 years in a manager position
- Experience with a multi-payroll company as well as multi-union and non-union payrolls
- Knowledge of provincial payroll legislation for Western Canada
- PLP designation
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a team with effective communication skills.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Excel
